FITASC Cyprus Grand Prix 2025 – Compak & Sporting
The FITASC Grand Prix of Cyprus returned in October 2025 with a double feature, Compak and Sporting! Delivering five days of high-level international shooting on the island’s renowned clay grounds. Held at Limassol Shooting Club, this event once again proved why Cyprus has earned its reputation as a clay shooting destination.
Compak Grand Prix – 200 Targets Across 8 Layouts
The first two days were dedicated to the FITASC Compak Grand Prix, featuring 200 targets across 8 distinct layouts. The machines were thoughtfully placed throughout Limassol’s rugged terrain, with hills, trenches, and elevation changes making every station count. The difficulty was clearly higher than usual, but nothing unfair, just a proper international test.
Shooters competed in squads using RangeMaster’s automatic microphone system, which worked flawlessly and helped keep the event running efficiently. And with an optional €50 buy-in, participants had a shot at a substantial €48,000 prize pool, a nice extra motivation to perform well.
Sporting Grand Prix – Into the Mountains
The Sporting Grand Prix followed over the final two days, also featuring 200 targets. Unlike the Compak event, this part of the competition took shooters up into the mountains outside the Limassol range. Large shuttle buses handled the transport, taking participants to layouts that were uniquely designed to take full advantage of the dramatic terrain.
Expectations were high, and the course designers delivered on all fronts. Targets launched from underneath your feet, high crossers flew over mountaintops, and close-range trick shots were mixed in to challenge even the most experienced shooters. It was clear that a lot of thought went into the layout design, resulting in a Sporting competition that was both visually stunning and technically demanding.
However, the experience wasn’t without hiccups. Technical issues led to several machine breakdowns, causing long delays on both days. The lack of seating and limited water supply at the mountain layouts also became noticeable, especially given the heat. Still, the creativity and scale of the Sporting portion made it a memorable highlight of the week.
