Fitasc Grand Prix of Czech Republic 2026 Compak & Sporting

Last week two of our ambassadors traveled to the Czech Republic for the Fitasc Grand Prix of Czech Republic, competing in both the Compak Sporting and Sporting disciplines over the course of the week, and came back with a very positive overall experience.

Compak Sporting

Mixed Conditions & Technical Challenges

The Compak competition kicked off with promising weather on the first day, offering stable conditions for most of the shooting. Targets were generally well set, although a few raised questions as to whether they fully aligned with the spirit and regulations of the Compak discipline.

One of the main challenges throughout the competition came from the electronic calling system, which struggled to consistently register shooters’ calls. This led to repeated resets, delays, and some frustration among participants, especially on the first day.

Day two brought more difficult weather, with drizzle, wind, and overcast conditions. While the electronic system improved slightly, some issues still remained. Target presentation on the second day was more questionable, particularly with certain doubles that pushed beyond what would normally be expected in Compak Sporting.

Despite these points, the overall atmosphere remained positive, and the combination of scenery and hospitality made it an enjoyable experience.

Parcours de chasse Sporting was a standout competition

The Sporting Grand Prix that followed was a clear step up and delivered a top-level experience in both organization and target setting.

The course designers made excellent use of the terrain, creating a varied and challenging course that tested all aspects of shooting. Layouts ranged from open fields to tighter forest sections, with targets thrown from below your feet, across hillsides, and as big crossers in open sky. The natural slopes of the terrain were used effectively, offering both upward and downward presentations that kept shooters on their toes.

Targets were not easy, and the selected pairs were challenging even for experienced competitors, but they remained fair and enjoyable throughout. This was Sporting done right.

Facilities, Catering & Conditions

Facilities across the venue were well managed. There were plenty of portable toilets available across the layouts, and the on-site catering offered good quality local dishes at affordable prices, along with cold drinks throughout the day.

Due to rain earlier in the week, some areas of the course became muddy. The organizers made a clear effort to improve accessibility by laying down woodchips where possible, helping shooters move between layouts. One minor point of feedback would be that some shooting pegs were far from level, which added an extra layer of difficulty that wasn’t always necessary.

Final Thoughts

Overall, this was a great week of shooting in the Czech Republic. While the Compak competition had its challenges, the Sporting event more than made up for it with excellent course design and smooth organization.

The venue itself is outstanding, and the surrounding area is well worth the trip. Combined with the welcoming atmosphere and strong hospitality, this is definitely a location shooters should consider visiting.

Congratulations to all the winners across both competitions.
