Perazzi Cup 2025 – A Challenging Edition at Dornsberg

6–7 September 2025
The Perazzi Cup at Dornsberg is a well-established highlight on the sporting clay calendar. Year after year, shooters from across Europe race to register for a spot, and 2025 was no exception. With perfect weather forecasts, new shooting positions introduced for day two, and an outstanding venue, expectations were sky-high for this year’s edition.
High Hopes, Hard Realities
The event started with great promise. Sunny skies and calm conditions set the tone for what should have been another top-tier experience. But from the first day of competition, it became clear that something wasn’t right.
Unlike previous editions, where the Perazzi Cup delivered a fair balance of easy, average, and tough targets, this year’s course design was noticeably off. On more than one occasion, target difficulty crossed the line between hard and simply impossible. Even top shooters struggled to post scores they could be satisfied with. The result was widespread frustration and disappointment among competitors who had traveled far and invested heavily to be part of this normally well-regarded event.
Adjustments & New Layouts on Day Two
Acknowledging the problem, the organizers made overnight adjustments to the target settings across four layouts. The second day offered noticeably more enjoyable shooting, and although the original “Perazzi Cup feeling” wasn’t fully restored, shooters were at least able to engage with a fair and hittable course again.
The effort to correct course so quickly deserves recognition, even if the damage to the overall experience was already done.
Prize Ceremony & Looking Ahead
At the closing ceremony, the organization openly addressed the misjudgment, taking full responsibility and offering a sincere apology to all participants. They committed to restoring the Perazzi Cup to its former glory in 2026, promising an event that’s not only technically strong but enjoyable for shooters of all levels.
Despite the rough start, there were still well-deserved winners. Congratulations to all category champions who managed to stay consistent under tough conditions.

Still a Venue Worth Visiting
Despite this year’s challenges, Dornsberg remains a world-class clay shooting venue. The surroundings are breathtaking, and past editions of the Perazzi Cup have delivered memorable shooting experiences. Even though 2025 didn’t go to plan, the opportunity to shoot at Dornsberg is always special, and the groundwork is already being laid for a much stronger return next year.
We’ll be back, and we know many others will be too.
