Rheinland-Pfalz Cup 2025 – Compak FITASC in an Old Quarry

From March 29–30, the Rheinland-Pfalz Cup 2025 kicked off the season with its first edition at the Neuhof shooting ground near Alzey, Germany. The competition, initiated by the Landesjagdverband Rheinland-Pfalz e.V. (LJV-RLP), brought together shooters for a weekend of 200 FITASC Compak targets over two days, set in a rugged and scenic environment carved into an old quarry.

The setup was handled by Ueli Lischer and his team from Pro-Shooting, who installed Promatic machines and ran the event using the Progetti Multi-Pull System. Due to the compact size of the venue, shooting was done across two layouts, which were changed during the lunch break. In the morning, shooters worked through two configurations, and in the afternoon, after a quick machine rearrangement, two fresh layouts were presented.

The competition followed an “In Line” system rather than traditional squadded rotations. With the help of automatic target calling, this format allowed more participants to shoot throughout the day without delays, a practical fit for the venue and layout structure.

Efforts That Paid Off

Although this was the first major event hosted at Neuhof, the effort behind the scenes was clear. Tents, a wide selection of cakes, drinks, and snacks, and a food truck for lunch helped keep everyone fueled throughout the day. Clean sanitary facilities and rest areas were also on-site, ensuring comfort for competitors and visitors alike.

The targets were smartly set, offering a well-balanced mix with a few tricky angles. On the second day, some gusty wind added to the difficulty, making the already tight presentations even more interesting!

About the Organizers

The Rheinland-Pfalz Cup 2025 was made possible thanks to the initiative of a local hunting club in Rheinland-Pfalz, supported by the Landesjagdverband Rheinland-Pfalz e.V. (LJV-RLP). Their effort to bring a top-level Compak competition to this unique shooting ground laid the foundation for a successful first edition.

Final Thoughts

The first edition of the Rheinland-Pfalz Cup was a well-run and enjoyable weekend of shooting, and a personal success for our own Ambassador Hendrick, who finished the event as the overall winner.

With well-set targets, smooth logistics, and a unique location, this competition has laid a strong foundation for future editions.

WOCS congratulates Hendrick on the win, stay tuned for more international event reviews coming soon.
